For the last five days I’ve had clay on my mind, and on my clothes, and on my food, and on my books, and on my camera. This movie should explain all. From abstract to figurative to the future to virtual reality to nature; we made clay do it all.
This was the second weekend week of summer camp on Governors Island. Camps run all the way until the end of August. For more information on these camps click here.
BEHIND THE SCENES PHOTOGRAPHS!
This is the Media Lab Chapel as seen from above on the balcony. There are four animating stations: The Beast, The Deep, The Forest, and The Future. The stage on the right is where we screen our work.
Animating on Station Four: The Future.

Animating on Station Three: The Forest.
Frequently we take our animating stations outside.
This group is animating the Pagganack Weasel Cat in it’s natural environment.
This group is working with Rick, a fearsome quadruped with fur.
In our free time we take walks around the island, play sports, or build villages for millipedes.
When all the animating is done, we move into the Fur Room to record sound.
And if anyone misbehaves they have to have a talk with this guy. (Skillfully made by CMA Teaching Artist Mandy Talbot)
