Works in Progress: Meghann Snow, Dance Drawing Series

As part of the Work in Progress exhibit, CMA’s gallery hosted performance artist and former ballet dancer/figure skater Meghann Snow, whose ‘Dance Drawing Series’ focuses on muscle memory and use of the body to create lasting impressions. Using industrial materials such as tape and bubble wrap to create “ballet shoes,” Snow creates wearable footwear which she uses to dance on large-scale canvases while inscribing them with acrylic paint.

Works in Progress: Lisa Ludwig, The Art Neighborhood

Children’s Museum of the Arts presented Works In Progress, an ever-evolving exhibition that turned the CMA gallery into a blank canvas for artistic exploration, as well as a working studio, where guest artists invited visitors to assist them in their art making process. The first selected guest artist is Lisa Ludwig, presenting at CMA’s gallery her continuing community project, “The Art Neighborhood”, a large-scale installation, which uses recycled materials to create a scaled down urban environment complete with the characters that inhabit it.
