Woven Reflections Children’s Workshop—

06.22.10

July 17, 2010
1:00 pmto4:00 pm

In partnership with the Children’s Museum of the Arts (CMA), No Longer Empty (NLE) will provide a children’s art workshop that is inspired by NLE’s thematic exhibition The Sixth Borough. The workshop will be held in Nolan Park from 1-4 PM.

Children will create reflective art weavings to be installed in trees that will remain on view for the duration of the summer! The workshop, Woven Reflections led by CMA’s Teaching Artist Kristen Ossmann and NLE art assistants, aims to broaden children’s concept of ‘What is Art?’, celebrate the artist in every child and promote access to the arts for all.

NLE’s The Sixth Borough exhibition is on view at Colonels Row.

Additional programs and events are: Clive Murphy’s installation in Building 110 on June 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 27. Regine Basha’s film series Not a Place, An Outlook at The Theater on select weekends.  Learn more about NLE’s other current exhibitions and programs at www.nolongerempty.org.

No Longer Empty is a non-profit organization whose mission is to introduce high caliber contemporary art to new audiences by temporarily transforming vacant properties into site-specific exhibitions that are free and open to the public. Each exhibition is accompanied by engaging programming such as panel discussions, curator-led tours, artist talks, music concerts, performance and children’s events.
